yt-dlp not working with Kick? Here is the fix

Kick sits behind Cloudflare bot protection. yt-dlp requests get challenged and fail with HTTP 403, 'Unable to extract' or an infinite JavaScript challenge.

Here is what actually helps.

Fix 2: pass browser cookies

yt-dlp --cookies-from-browser chrome https://kick.com/CHANNEL

Fix 3: use the Kick API stream URL with ffmpeg

Fetch https://kick.com/api/v2/channels/CHANNEL in a real browser, copy playback_url and feed it to ffmpeg -i URL -c copy out.mp4. Fragile, but works.

Fix 4: stop fighting Cloudflare

recordcloud.bot records Kick server-side with protection-aware fetching, detects lives automatically and hands you an MP4. No cookies, no updates.
