How to record sub-only VODs on Twitch
Twitch lets Partners and Affiliates restrict past broadcasts to subscribers. The live stream itself stays public; only the archive is locked.
That is the key: capture the broadcast while it is live and you have your own archive.

Method 1: recordcloud.bot (automatic)
- Add the Twitch channel.
- Recording starts when the stream goes live.
- The MP4 lands in your library regardless of the VOD's sub-only setting.

Method 2: Streamlink with an OAuth token
If you are a subscriber, Streamlink can download the sub-only VOD with your own auth token. This is manual and only works while the VOD exists.

Sub-only archives exist to reward subscribers. Keep your recordings private and consider subscribing to the channels you love.
